Chapters 1-2 of Rule of the Bone really made me realize what the character will be like the rest of the story. Chappie seems like the kid that sat in the corner and no one would talk to because of the fact he is a little different then most or the one that would get picked on and finally snapped one day and became rebellious. I can see why Chappie is rebellious because of the fact that one day he might of just snapped from something happening at school or some major change in his life. But unlike most, Chappie is a little more extreme. It's okay to try different drugs once in a while, but then theyre people like Chappie who dont care about their bodies and do however many drugs they feel like to either get away from the world or do it for fun. That's pretty low if you're stealing from your own parents and then use the money just for weed that you don't even keep to yourself. However, he does show a sensitive side when he imagines coming home for Christmas. This I find kind of weird because Chappie goes from doing his own thing and considering himself a criminal to imagining coming home for Christmas with loads of presents for his mom and step-dad. I think Chappie is caught between living the life of a rebellion and a regular teenager. I really like this book so far because of the different writing style and storyline.
1.Four out of every 10 runaway children leave home at least three times.
2. Every year, more than one million children in the U.S. run away from home.
3. Kids as young as 10 are among the one in seven who leave their homes, although most runaways are between 15 and 17.
